Elem "Winnie" Winfred Whisenant

Elem enjoyed carp fishing, NASCAR, and Atlanta Braves Baseball. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

Along with his parents, Elem is preceded in death by a daughter, Lesie Renee Whisenant Hensley; five brothers; and two sisters.

Those left behind to cherish Elem's memory include three daughters, Hope Whisenant, Shirley Whisenant and her significant other, Rodney Lewis, and Windy Whisenant, all of Morganton; two sisters, Ruby-Lee McCall of Morganton and Mary Childers and her husband Randy of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. JR Richards officiating.
