He was born April 24, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Mrs. Ethel K. Lawrence and Benjamin F. Lawrence. His formal education was in Camden County Schools in New Jersey. After moving south, He received his High School Diploma in Morganton NC.
He enjoyed cooking, laughing, and just having fun. He was the mastermind behind K&T Catering, along with Teez Catering and Candy. He was known as a very loving and caring person to people he knew or didn’t know. And everybody was his cousin.
Elder Kenneth Lawrence was a member of St. John Church of God Ministries where he wore many hats. He was Superintendent of Christian Education Department. He was also the President of the Men’s Ministry. He was an usher and a member of St. John Faith Ensemble. He was over the youth choir, Voices of Praise. He loved being on the St. John Kitchen Staff. Before becoming an Elder, he was a Deacon and a Minister. He was the brotherhood President of Region Five in the North Carolina State Council.
On the state level, Elder Lawrence was the treasurer of the North Carolina State Council. At the time of his passing, he was the newly elected Vice President of the North Carolina State Council Men’s Ministry. Elder Lawrence loved praying, teaching, and preaching the Word of God. When anyone requested prayer he did not hesitate to pray for them.
Elder Lawrence was preceded in death by Ethel K. Lawrence (mother), Dorothy Pritchett (grandmother), Janice Lawrence (sister), Gary Lawrence (brother) and fur baby Sasha Lawrence.
Elder Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Theresa Owens Lawrence, a sister, Rhonda Drennon (TeArthor), a brother, Benjamin Lawrence, father n law, Clayton Owens, special uncle, Joseph Pritchett(Rose), special aunt, Pricilla Evans, “THE KIDS”, Marcus Eaddy, Tyler Heath, Cordian Logan, God children, Chelcy Conley, Severina Campero, Mario Campero, Ty’Rique Cash and “THE GRANDS”, Jacelynn Moore, Elias Miller and furbaby Dottie Lawrence. Also, surviving are two special brothers; Joseph and James Bennefield, and best friend Deacon Larry Bethel. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, cousins and friends and of course the St. John Church Family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 1pm to 1:55pm at St. John Church of God Ministries, 205 Branch Street, Morganton NC. Funeral Services will be held immediately after receiving of friends. Burial will be at Morning Star Church Cemetery, Morganton NC.
