She was born to the late William “Bill” Hoilman and Slyvia Bowman Murr but raised by her special grandparents the late Richard and Rutha Mae Boswell on April 04, 1948 in Johnson City, TN.
Brenda enjoyed genealogy, and she wrote several books. She was of the Christain faith.
In addition to her parents and special grandparents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings Bobby Hoilman, Rick Murr, Andy Murr, and Lorrie Murr.
Those left to cherish her memories include her beloved husband of 57 years Thomas Gene Messer of the home, children; Brenda Kathleen Messer Coffey, Rutha Gayle Messer Bell both of Morganton, grandchildren; Christopher Stamper, Jacob Bell, and Joshua Bell, great-grandchild Lucas Stamper, siblings; Dave Murr, Karren Pennington, Roger Murr, and Jeff Murr, also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
