Douglas John Robert Elwanger, a native of Salem, Indiana and a resident of Bayou Vista, Louisiana passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the age of 37. A loving son, companion, father, and brother, Douglas was a faithful follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who dutifully and lovingly shared his word. He enjoyed music and would make his own joyful sound while playing his guitar. Douglas was also a baseball fan and an enthusiastic Atlanta Braves fan. When not among his family and friends, he could often be found outside the great outdoors or fishing with others. Douglas will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Those left to cherish Douglas' beautiful memory are his adoring parents, Brian and Angela McGee of of Texas; his loving girlfriend, Patricia Sons Fabre of Bayou Vista; his caring son, Skylar Steier of Indiana; and his siblings, Julie Chapman and her husband, Adam, and April Waggoner all of Indiana.
He was reunited in heaven with his father, Douglas Elwanger.
Services are currently pending at this time and the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be paid in Douglas' memory to assist in the alleviation of funeral expenses.
