Daisy Mae Billiot, 64, a native and resident of Morgan City went to her heavenly home, Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center in Houma.
Daisy is survived by two sons, Armond LeBlanc Jr. and his wife, Katherine, of Bayou Vista, and Jarrod LeBlanc Sr., and his wife, Mary, of Bayou L’ouise; a daughter, Michele LeBlanc of Morgan City; her companion, Willis Touchet of Jennings; five sisters, Betty Young and her husband, Willie, of Franklin, Natalie DeHart of Berwick, Lily Torras of Berwick, Madina Billiot of Morgan City, and Anna Billiot of Pierre Part; five brothers, Joe Billiot of Bayou Vista and Sidney Billiot and his wife, Brenda, of Broussard, Ernest Billiot of New Iberia, Preston Billiot of Morgan City, and Willard Billiot of Homer; seven grandchildren, Jarrod LeBlanc Jr., Eugene LeBlanc, Dakota Lombas, John ‘Tee’ Clark and his wife, Danielle, Christian Cormier, Sarah Cormier, and Jessica Brown; two great grandchildren, Breyah and Alayna Clark; and her good friend and confidant, Sidney Cortez.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Billiot; her mother, Daisy Davis Konesky; her stepfather, Walter Konesky; and two brothers, Eugene and Dennis Billiot.
Daisy was the most loving and outgoing person. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family knew how understanding and accepting she was with those she loved. She always made time to lend an ear and never held back from giving advice she thought was needed. She was known to voice her opinion.
She was an avid Saints and LSU fan. She loved dancing, especially to Swamp Pop. Daisy adored spending time outdoors. She especially had a love for Southern food. Being a good cook herself, the family had many gatherings around such dishes as: chicken stew, cabbage rolls, and gumbo.
The family requests that visitation be observed, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with a rosary being prayed at 7:30pm. Visitation will resume Thursday, February 16th at Hargrave Funeral Home at 8am until time of dismissal 10:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City with graveside services following in the Morgan City Cemetery.
