Ann Constance Russo Johnson, a foodie before being a foodie was hip, a grower everything green, a collector of many things, a spirited woman who thrived on seeking knowledge, a speaker of words that could make you blush, a creator of many things, a cut-up who could keep you laughing for hours, a lover of all that is family, a true steel magnolia, passed away on Saturday, March 07, 2015. Like all of us, she loved Mardi Gras and gave her time and creative talent to the Krewe of Galatea. She reigned as Queen Galatea XXV and her dazzling smile outshone the brilliant jewels in her crown.
She leaves behind the love of her life for 58 years, Dr. William H. Johnson Jr., her children, Sonja Johnson Choate and her husband Mark, Bill Johnson III, and his wife Robin, and Connie Johnson; her grandchildren, Laura Major Koelbel and her husband Walt, Myles Taylor, Katie Major, Lindsey Johnson Nolting and her husband David, Matthew Taylor, Zachary Johnson, and Constance Taylor; her siblings, Dr. Lawrence and Clara Russo, Honorine and Dr. Peter Abel, Salvadore and Cathy Russo, and James and Fran Russo, Carolyn and Donnie Dell. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. and Mrs. Salvadore Russo, her sister Cherie Russo Autin, her grandson Dustin Taylor, and her sister and brother-in-law Camille and Colonel Joe Wilson. Ann, Mom, or Nanna loved and lived for her family and will be dearly missed. She lives on in each of us.
The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, March 10, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Morgan City with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Arrangements under the direction of Hargrave Funeral Home, Morgan City, LA.
