Cynthia Marie Young, also known by her family as Cyndi or Auntie Thetha, but if you really knew her, she was Cyndeeeeee! Cynthia was the eldest child of seven children born to Jadie L. Young, Sr. and Easter B. Grays in Birmingham, Alabama on
March 30, 1954.
The family moved to California when she was 14 years old where they settled in Los Angeles. She graduated from Elementary School in Birmingham, Alabama, she attended Markham Junior High School and continued her education at Jordan High School. After graduating from high school, she obtained a certificate in electronics and was employed in the banking and various retail service industries. Her vivacious personality always made her a standout employee.
Ultimately, Cynthia dedicated her life to caring for her dad, mom, and son. As one would guess, being a caregiver has its challenges, but Cynthia never wavered and never faltered. Cynthia gave what she could to all she knew.
Cynthia was an ordinary person who brought extraordinary joy to all who knew her. She was pure light, love, and joy. Although her light will be missed, it shines on all of us who were blessed to have been loved by her. One could describe her as an everyday superhero. After all, not all superheroes wear capes.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Rhodes, father, Jadie L. Young Sr., mother, Easter B. Young, and two brothers, Charles Young, and Jadie Young, Jr.
Her memory will always be cherished by her brother Brennon Young (Michele), three sisters, Alicia Sherman (Robert), Sonya Flint (Leon), and Yvette Osborne (Michael) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, plus other relatives and friends.
