Brenda Kae Segobia

Brenda was born May 24, 1968, in Berkeley, California to David and Carolyn Wilkinson. She resided with her family in Livermore California until 1980 when the family moved to Bellevue Washington, where she graduated from Newport High School in 1986. Brenda was an excellent student; following high school she earned a Nursing degree from Brigham Young University. Graduating at the top of her class.

Professionally Brenda worked as a nurse in Laredo Texas and at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City before moving to Kirkland Washington where she worked in post operative care. Nursing was not just what Brenda did, it’s who she was. She was a natural caregiver, always thinking of others. She loved to travel and explore new places and meet new people. One of the great joys in her life was participating in medical missions with Operation Smile doing cleft lip and palate repair. She traveled to countries in South America, Africa, Asia and the middle east changing lives.

Brenda served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas, San Antonio mission. She had a great love for youth and throughout her life served as a seminary teacher, young women’s leader, girls camp, youth conference, and scout camp nurse. Brenda married Julian Segobia in July 2011. They shared a love of animals and enjoyed traveling and fishing together, moving to California in 2020 where she continued to impact others with her loving service and huge heart.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband Julian Segobia, 3 stepsons JJ, Justin and Josh (Brittany) Segobia step grandson Luka. Siblings Karen (Dean) Jolly, Richard (Bernie) Wilkinson, Nancy (Tim) Muir. Nieces and Nephews Megan Jolly, Makenna (Andy) Winn, Taylor (Alora) Jolly, Hannah Jolly, Eli Jolly, William Muir, Ryder Muir and Elijah Wilkinson. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service for Brenda will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11557 Redlands Dr., Moreno Valley, CA 92555.
