Jelena Djurovic Filipovic

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jelena Djurovic Filipovic, a devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully surrounded by her family on February 24th, 2023. Her sudden departure has left a deep void in our lives, and we will miss her dearly.

Born in Belgrade on August 14th, 1941, Jelena was the beloved daughter of deceased Branko & Danica Filipovic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dragana Radulovic, Spomenka Filipovic and her youngest brother, Father Dragan Filipovic.

She was the devoted wife of Blagota Djurovic. Jelena was a loving mother to Natasha( Claude) & Bosko ( Samah), who were the center of her world, and she was blessed with 5 grandchildren , Katarina (Gregoire), Filip, Sasha, Ben & Maya who brought her immense joy and happiness. She was a proud Aunt of her nieces, Gordana Bozovic, Elizabeth (Jake) Fuelhart and Matthew Filipovic, her sister-in-law Mira Filipovic and 3 great nieces and one great nephew. She held a special place for all of the Djurovic Family in Canada & Montenegro.

Jelena was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. She was a woman of great strength, compassion, and love, who touched the hearts of everyone who crossed her path. She lived a life full of purpose and meaning, dedicating herself to her family, friends, and community. Jelena's warmth and kindness knew no bounds. In addition to her role as a loving mother, aunt and grandmother, Jelena was a pillar of her community. She was actively involved in The Serbian Orthodox Church in Montreal and charitable organizations, volunteering her time and resources to help those in need. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds.

As we bid farewell to Jelena, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and compassion.

Her memory will live on forever in our hearts, and we will carry her love with us always. May her memory be eternal.

Friends will be received this Friday for the viewing , March 3rd , 2023 from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox church, at 349 Melville Ave., Westmount ,Quebec, H3Z 2J7. The funeral Church service will be held on Saturday , March 4th , 2023 at 11:00 am at the same location. Daca to follow after church service.
