Evelyn Jean Watt

Cherished mother of Mary Schurman (Murray Chaffey) and Graham Schurman (Janet Strike).

She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, John (Anika Gerols), Andrew (Leyenda Kerr), Catherine (David Benson), Heather, Quinn, and Marian. She loved her great-grandchildren (Carter, Travis, and Teyah Benson, Daniel and Sydney Schurman).

Predeceased by her sister Frances (Werner Herzig), she leaves to mourn her sister Elinor (Bill Perry) and brother Andrew (Joan Goodfellow).

In addition to her in-laws, Stan Schurman and Sheila Deer Schurman, Auntie Evelyn will be fondly remembered by her many Watt, Schurman, and Oliver nieces and nephews.

After growing up and raising a family in Chateauguay, she worked at the Griffith McConnell Residence, retiring in 2005. She was a long-time resident of St. Patrick Square in Cote St Luc and a lifetime active member of her church community.

Funeral will be held at Montreal West United Church, 88 rue Ballantyne North, Montreal West, H4X 2B8. Service at 1 pm, Friday, January 27, 2023. No visitation. She will be laid to rest in Chateauguay Protestant cemetery, beside her parents Irven and Betty (Tennant) Watt.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal West United Church would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of the MUHC (Royal Victoria Hospital) for their care and compassion.
