Dear Steve and Robert,

Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your father.

Having known Chuck for over 40 years he was easily the most satisfying person to work with in my entire career, for one got to use all one’s faculties with him. 

From day one he showed the qualities of being a man with purpose and determination, clever and straightforward, none of which ever left him.

He made numerous calculations on paper napkins and took pleasure in making $2 bets with people. 

We are all better for having known him.

I am extremely sad to miss Chuck's celebration of life. I've known Chuck my whole life, so I really wish I could be there in person to pay my respects. He was a special person. I read through all the messages here and was struck by how many people said he was like a second dad to them. At many important points in my life Chuck played the role of backup Dad to me as well. And he did it all with such love, humour, grace and a twinkle in his eye. Who can forget the New Year's Eve we spent on black ice, unable to get up a hill on our way home from dinner? It was Chuck (of course), with his suburban, chains and ropes etc, who got our whole gang out of trouble. I send my love and caring to my bros (Rob and Steve) and Sylvie. I'm so sorry. The bigger the love, the more the absence is felt. xoxo

My heart felt condolences to the family..
I worked for Chuck at Quadco, always loved to banter with him. He was an amazing person and leader. He called me Brault and I called him McLennan but we both had great respect for one another. I will cherish those memories.

Que de bons souvenirs qui refont surface! Tellement de grands moments! 

Son regard sur la photo est typique de lui, de l’accueil qui nous réservait quand nous le rencontrions.

Un sens inné des affaires. Une intelligence hors du commun. Un entrepreneur accompli. Chuck fut pour moi un grand mentor et une grande source d’inspiration qui nous incitait à nous dépasser. Un grand merci!

Too many great moments.  A true inspiration in so many walks of life. Felt like a second dad at times. Great advice was shared and such a loving and playful spirit.  A major loss of joy occurred on May 30th.  Chuck certainly lives on in so many memories and momentos and images.  Cannot be forgotten.

It is with very deep sadness to have recently learned of the passing of Charles "Chuck" MacLennan. I was just a teenager when I met Chuck as I was his across the street neighbour in Beaconsfield, QC. Chuck hired me to clean his cars and also employed me at TSL during the summers.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with him, he was an inspiration  and encouraged me to attend Bishop's University. Chuck was my mentor during my youth. A very kind and generous man with an unmatched sense for business.  We unfortunately lost touch when he, Rosalyn, Stephen and Robert moved to Hudson, QC. and I moved to Ontario to start a career.  I am retired now and live in Georgetown. My heartfelt condolences go out  to the family and friends of Charles.

My deepest condolences to Steve and Rob.  It is never easy the loss of a parent, there are no words to ease your pain. May you both find the strength within.

Chuck has always guided me to be the best I could be and to do my job to the best of my abilities. Chuck was my boss, but through the years I have learned to consider him as friend, a mentor and even so far as to say my work Dad. The trust he showed in me helped me be a better person and I will be eternally grateful for having met this Great man.

Chuck even met with Christian on a few occasions to discuss his business and guide him into his new ventures.

He will be deeply missed but we won’t forget who he was and what he meant to Chrisian and I.

Dear Sylvie, Stephen and Robert,
We were so saddened to hear today of Chuck’s passing and do feel deeply for you in this tough time. As next door neighbours, we very much enjoyed the great joie de vivre of all our interactions with Chuck and Sylvie. Great roars of engines in the usually silent circle - “they’re BAAACK”  : )  : )  : ) “. Chuck brought a lot of lively entertainment to our part of the world. He was larger than life and always a great and kindly participant or host at neighbour parties.  While not regularly in contact, when we were, it was always with a great sense of presence. We’re still trying to grasp this new smaller world without him. Courage!

I just learned of the sad news. My law firm has worked for many years for Chuck's wonderful acheivement which is Quadco. But we started  out opposite each other in a couple of epic patent battles at least a couple of decades ago. That is when I was first able to appreciate his creative genius, his drive and his generosity. But also his sense of humour.

My condolences go out to his family and friends, I am sure you have fond memories of Chuck, le bon vivant, and that you will miss him.

It is with sadness that Chuck's fellow members of the Marco Island Marina (MIMA) learned of his passing.  He was a highly esteemed member of the Marco Island Marina community, where he kept several of his cherished boats. His passion for boating was not only remarkable but also inspiring to many who knew him. Chuck's love for the water and his vast knowledge of boating made him a revered figure at the marina.

Recently, Chuck took on the role of a Director on the Board of the Marina, and his fellow Directors were eagerly anticipating the benefits of his extensive business acumen and leadership skills. Chuck's insights and experience promised to bring valuable perspectives and innovations to the marina's operations.

On behalf of the Board and all of Chuck’s friends at MIMA, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. We know that Chuck’s memory will be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Hello Sylvie, I was just made aware of the very sad news of Chuck's passing. Chuck was a great man and a mentor to many. I always enjoyed my time I spent with him and will miss him and his direct sense of humor. His visits into the store to give me grief were always a fun battle. He really took a liking to my son, and he is also saddened by the news.  He always called me 1/2 a man in comparison to him and I would be proud to be 50% of what Chuck was as a man, a father and husband and a respected business man.  He will be missed but his legacy and memory will live forever.
