Charles D. MacLennan, 78, of Rigaud, QC, passed away in the presence of his family on Thursday, May 30, 2024, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of metastatic melanoma.
He was born on December 13, 1945, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, the son of Malcolm D. MacLennan and Gertrude M. Gaffney.
Charles is survived by his loving partner Sylvie Boivin; his sons Stephen and Robert (Chantal Gauthier); and his grandchildren Jake, Brooke, and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Roslyn Diana Newton, and his sister Karen.
Charles was known for his unwavering confidence, strong business acumen, innovativeness and industriousness which enabled him to lead a very successful career in the banking and forestry industries that spanned more than 50 years. Outside of work, Charles enjoyed the thrill of boating, skiing, motorcycling, and cars. He was a devoted contributor to the Hudson community, actively participating in the Yacht Club and the Medi-Center.
Charles was also a fierce competitor, whether in a sailing race, playing a game of bridge, or engaging in a friendly debate. His determination and drive were evident in everything he did, inspiring those around him to always strive for their best.
Charles had a zest for life and a passion for adventure. His adventurous spirit and love for the open road and water were infectious, and he often shared these joys with family and friends.
Those who knew Charles will remember him for his kindness, his sense of humor, his generosity, his unwavering love for his family, and his indomitable spirit.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, September 27th, 2024 from 3pm-7pm at Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada Hwy, Senneville, Quebec, H9X 0B2.
