Barry Ray Helmer

Barry Ray Helmer (57) passed away peacefully June 6, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on October 7, 1965, in Cornwall, Ontario, Barry's vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy.

Barry is survived by his partner Paula, a pillar of love and support throughout his life's journey. He was a devoted son to his mother, Winifred and a loving father to his sons, Jake (Cindy) and Jessy (Scott). His brothers George (Brenda), Greg and sister Anne (Michael), shared laughter and a lifetime of memories. He was Leo, Nora and Milo's grandfather, bringing immense happiness into his life. Barry and Paula’s furry companion, puppy Barry Jr, also shared in his warmth and affection. He was predeceased by his father, Shirley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23, 2023, from 2-6 pm at the Crysler Community Centre. This gathering will serve as a time to honour Barry's life, sharing stories and reminiscing about the cherished moments he shared with each of us.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the care given by the staff of the CHUM Hospital.

In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barry's memory to the Canadian Lung Association.

Barry will forever be remembered as a remarkable individual whose zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. As we say our final goodbyes, let us hold on to the cherished memories and celebrate his vibrant spirit that continues to live within us.
