There are no words to describe this feeling of no longer being able to see Bill in person. I still talk to him every night and ask him what I should do about the things he left behind.  One thing I am sure of is that he cherished all his friendships. I want to thank all of you for your love and support to Bill throughout his life at AUM and his retirement. After Rob, my only child died, Bill told me to "be brave and stay strong" because Rob would want me to be happy.  This is not an easy task these days but I try my best.  Bill, we miss you and you remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace over the rainbow until

I met Bill at OLLI at AUM several years ago. He was always very kind and helpful, providing lots of information  and conversation. He always asked me about my own health and wellness, showing true concern.  I miss our conversations. He was in the classes I instructed and I miss him.  May God Bless all of his family and friends and may God rest his soul.

We will dearly miss "Mr. Bill."  My husband and I worked for him, repairing his houses and doing odd and end jobs for him.  We were doing a job for him, on 5th Street, the day he fell and broke his hip.  He will surely be missed by me and my family.  He was such a happy person and always knew what to say.  He was a great man and will always be remembered.

Bill always had what I considered to be his signature broad smile, nodding head, and sincere "How are you, Carolyn?"   whenever he greeted me and a similar greeting for others.  For the better  part of 25 years on the faculty at AUM, we saw each other most days either in the shared hallway on the third floor of Goodwyn Hall or at the unofficial faculty lunch table.    
Sometimes he would stop in my office and chat about university events or things of concern to all of us or perhaps about my family and other faculty and the latest news.  He always seemed interested in sharing with all of us.  I have been retired for many years, and was not in direct contatct with Bill. but I am sad that his smile and friendly demeanor are no longer in this world.

I was Bill's secretary for 15 years, before we both retired from AUM. He was such a knowledgeable professor and researcher, a mainstay of the Justice and Public Safety Department. He taught everything from Intro classes, to Corrections, to Research, both in Montgomery and the Huntsville Masters program, influencing thousands of students for good in his classes. Then, we became closer friends through the monthly Elmore-Montgomery retirement luncheon group. Bill always asked about my husband and son, and especially my granddog. He always had good suggestions or a funny comment about any situation. He will be dearly missed by the Wynn family. Marty, you have my love and deepest condolences at this very sad and difficult time.

Bill was a friend of recent years.  As a member of a small group of "traveling" companions who met regularly on a monthly basis to share views on current events and other topics of interest, his contribution on a variety of subjects will be missed.  I am particularly grateful for the brief period of time we shared on this planet.  There is no doubt that this soft-spoken, gentle spirit continues to witness our comings and goings from that place of deep silence and rest.

He was a faculty member at AUM for many years, and an active participant in the Life Long Learning classes where I first met him.  Over the past years we became good friends often meeting with a Sunday group to share meal and to socialize. He added wonderful insights into many current trends and practical advice when asked.  Our group will miss him and appreciate the times we had with him.

Sending condolences to the family & friends of our dear friend & honorary member of our Chisholm Improvement Association. 
He was a hands on property owner & worked closely with our association to bring in good occupants to his properties. 
He will certainly be missed.
