William (Bill) Enoch Harris (nicknamed Winkie) went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 20th. He was born in Montgomery on November 13, 1927 and is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte Ward Harris.
Winkie was preceded in death by his parents and his seven siblings. He is survived by his 5 children, William Enoch Harris, Jr. (Lelia); Carita Harris McClurkin (Sam); Patti Harris Davis (Roy); Lori Harris Perkins (Kerry) and Edward Chele Harris (Karen). He is also survived by his 13 Grandchildren (Heidi, Eva Marie, Mac, John, Susan, Kelly, Abbie, Hillary, Emily, John, Heather, Eric and Brooke) and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Winkie is also survived by his Special Brother-In-Law/Great Friend, John Regnier, and many wonderful Nephews, Nieces, extended families and close friends.
Winkie retired from the U.S. Civil Service after 41 years and he also worked at the Garrett Coliseum & the Alabama State Fair for over 20 years. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Winkie will always be remembered for his great hugs, his homemade ice-cream, helping others and his tremendous Love for Family.
The family welcomes everyone to join a Graveside Service at Greenwood Cemetery at 10 AM on Friday, July 24th to honor the life of William Harris.
