Walter Boyd

Walter Eugene Boyd of Highland Home Alabama loved the Lord our God with all his heart, mind, and soul. Eugene met the face of his savior Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the age of 81. Walter Eugene Boyd was preceded in death by his mother and father, Susie Mae Julian Boyd and Walter James Boyd (Bud), brothers

Cottrell Marcellous Boyd (Pete), James Franklin Boyd (Buddy), Jacob Julian Boyd (Sonny), William Thomas Boyd (Bill), and sister, Annette Boyd.

He is survived by his wife of 59 almost 60 years, Odessa Darlene Boyd, two sons Gerald Eugene Boyd (Traci Boyd), Walter James Boyd (Shannon Boyd), and brother, Joe Boyd. He also has 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren that he loved dearly. While he may have been a man of few words, he loved his family more than words could ever say. He showed his love for the Lord through his dedication to his family and serving others. Eugene was always willing to give a helping hand and made sure that if something was worth doing, he would do it the right way. He was a loving father, brother and Papa and we will miss him dearly but it brings us joy knowing that he is with the Lord!

Eugene served his nation in the US military from 1966 to 1968 and served as a deacon at our home church, First Southern Baptist Church of Hope Hull, AL at which services will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and later be laid to rest at McQueen Jullian Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
