She was born on August 18, 1937 in Hurtsboro, AL, to L. E. Walton and Mary Esther Clark Walton.
Virginia grew up in Hurtsboro. She graduated from Russell County High School in Hurtsboro and began her career at Kress in downtown Montgomery. She then worked for Delchamps and later retired from Food World. Virginia was a hard worker who loved the Lord and her family. After her retirement she was a faithful caregiver to many. She was a member of Perry Hill Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, L. E. Walton and Mary Esther Clark Walton; brother, John Lewis Walton; and sisters, Glenda Ruth Pate and Evelyn McCain.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sharon Leigh Wallace (Bruce) Stolts of Montgomery, AL; brother, Donald Hugh Walton of Seale, AL; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Nulph of Perry Hill Road Baptist Church and Rev. Randy Newman of Beacon of Hope Church of God followed by the burial at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. The family will be greeting guests at 10:00 AM, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be David Foshee, Ken Goodman, Bill Ingalls, Cecil Malone, Matt Stolts, and Scott Youngblood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perry Hill road Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL, or to one’s favorite charity.
