Thomas Roger Sutherland, Sr., beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021. He served our country in the US Air Force as a weather forecaster until his retirement. He also enjoyed preaching and collecting an assortment of computer parts and gadgets. His grandchildren claim he could fix anything. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Debbie Sutherland; parents, T.J. & Virginia Sutherland; and brother, Wayne Sutherland. Loving survivors include his children, Roger Sutherland, Jeff Sutherland (Danielle), Heidi Cawthorne (Matt); grandchildren, Tyler, Brent, Parker, Izzy, Dylan; as well as his siblings, Kenneth Sutherland, Carroll Sutherland (Sandy), Barbara Russell, Harold Dean Sutherland (Ann), and Debbie Creed (DeWayne).
Visitation will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or your favorite charity.
