Stephen E Pittman Jr.

PITTMAN, Jr., Stephen E., 90, of Montgomery, AL passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Graveside services will be Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Pugh and Rev. Jim Dannelly officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel. Survivors include his children, Doris Hanson (Clyde)-Fountain Inn, SC; Stephen Pittman, III (Teresa) & Joyce Pittman-all of Montgomery, AL; brother, Tony Pittman; five grandchildren, & eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen E. Pittman, Sr. & Frances Horne Pittman, his wife, Madelyn Pittman, brothers, Marion & J.K. Pittman and sisters, Christina Pittman, Lola Caldwell & Liz Beaird. Mr. Pittman served in the U. S. Army in Italy during WWII and was a longtime member of Forest Avenue/Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a Charter member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Active pallbearers will be Jason Pittman, Paul Griffin, Chandler Pittman, Nathaniel Pittman, Alex Griffin, and Logan Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Pathfinders Class at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate UMC Capital Campaign or to one’s favorite charity.
