Mr. Richard Louie Blankenship passed away on August 22nd surrounded by loving family and friends. He was a long time resident of Montgomery, AL and worked for many years as an Industrial electrician and carpenter. In his early years, he was a successful motor cross racer winning many awards and was sponsored by Yamaha. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. Richard loved his puppy Hopper and being a loving father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louie and Ramona Blankenship and his brother Jeff Blankenship. He is survived by his son Richard Scott Blankenship (Jennifer); grandchildren Railyn and Charlotte; sister Riki Franklin (Buck); nephews Connor(Emilee) and Tyler Franklin and several other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service is scheduled for Sunday Aug 28 at 2pm at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society and Cancer Research.
