Pat was born on August 24, 1947, in Panama City, Florida. He spent most of his life in Montgomery. He attended Robert E. Lee High School and college at Athens State University and The University of Alabama.
Pat retired from the Alabama Air National Guard and later worked as an instructor of Electronics and Physics. After retirement, he pursued his passion for economics, philosophy, and religion. He loved good music, books, Alabama football, his dogs and most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Eugene and Mary Pope Thomason, brother Joseph Wayne Thomason and Aunt Nelle Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rhonda Coleman Thomason, beloved daughters, Jennifer Thomason Stevens, Amy Thomason Rabon (James Wesley), grandchildren Harrison Parker Stevens, Collin Patrick Stevens, Anna Wesley Rabon, Benjamin Patrick Rabon, brother Rick Eugene Thomason (Martha), and sister-in-law Jean Thomason, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends he loved and treasured.
Pat was a trusted confidant and advisor, and a generous and loving source of strength to many. He will remain in our hearts forever, and he will be profoundly missed.
Contributions in memory of Pat may be made to the Montgomery Unitarian Universalist Fellowship or the Humane Society.
A family and friends’ visitation for Pat will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:15 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2 PM.
