Ruth, as she was known to all, was a devoted Catholic and led a life of service to others. She was married for 62 years and raised a family of four children. She was known by her family and friends to always be generous to others, whether they be total strangers or lifelong friends, giving of her talents and treasures. She served as a trail blazer in her career as a Registered Dietitian, receiving accolades and acknowledgements from numerous agencies and entities. After retirement she traveled the globe with tour groups both north and south of the equator enlightening herself with new adventures and new friends on every trip. It was a challenge to catch her at home as every trip led to the next trip, and every previous trip was reported as better than the last. She enjoyed sharing time with her children and their families; even in her final years with Vascular Dementia, she was appreciative and frequently reported having had a wonderful life.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Azar, III; Michael Azar; Nicholas Ostrye; and Wesley Glover.
