Mildred Lewis Rowlen, age 88 of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She graduated from Holtville High School, and retired from the State of Alabama Department of Public Safety. Mrs. Rowlen was a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was a member of The United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Alexander Rowlen; parents, Edward Edison and Ramelia Harden Lewis; and her sisters, Annie Ruth Ennis, and Juanita Pritchett. Survivors include her son, Thomas J. Rowlen (Linda) of Montgomery, AL; granddaughter, Amy M. Rowlen of Hiram, GA; sister, Betty Collins of Opelika, AL; sister-in-law, Margaret Elliott of Montgomery, AL; and her beloved cat, Buttons.
The Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1- 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Pastor David Cook and Chaplain John Gaines officiating. The burial will follow at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackie Cunningham, David Mastin, Mike Collins, Larry Elliott, Charlie Elliott, and Tommy Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cunningham and Dale E. “Pierre” Ryles.
