Mattie Lee Taylor Lacey passed peacefully on May 25th in Winter Haven FL. She was born in Greensport, Alabama on March 9th, 1932 to Burgie King and Ella Brown Taylor. The first of five children, after high school, she attended secretary school and then moved to Montgomery AL where she met and married her husband Jimmy Lacey and lived for 60 years. She worked for the State of Alabama for 38 years. She attended and participated in many activities at St Luke United Methodist Church. Mattie is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lacey, and her brother Richard Taylor. She is survived by her son James R Lacey Jr. and his wife Renee Lacey, two sisters Jeanette Taylor and Ann Harmon, and her brother Henry Taylor.
A visitation for Mrs. Lacey will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM.
