She is preceded in death by her husband John Dow Pickett and her daughter Janice Pickett McLane (Reagan). She is survived by her sons John D. (Jack) Pickett, Jr. (Jerry) and Edward Alan Pickett (Judy) and by her grandchildren Mari (Jonathan) Kraljic and Andrew McLane, Margaret-Ann Pickett, Joshua Pickett, Katherine Lane Pickett (Scott Greene), Elizabeth Dowe Pickett, and Anna Rose Pickett. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Upon retiring from Huntington College, Marilyn dedicated her life to her family and to volunteer work. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for 75 years where she was active in Saint Phoebe’s Guild and volunteered at the Church office for many years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, the 29 of June at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, at 1:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Deonna D. Neal, PhD. Associate Rector officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Marilyn’s name to St. John's Episcopal Church at (334) 262-1937.
