Margaret Dowdy Rodgers

Mrs. Rodgers was born on December 30, 1924 in Lindale, Georgia, to the late

James Walter Dowdy and Mary Ann Beard Dowdy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris Killgore; her brothers, Jim Dowdy, Forrest Dowdy, Dewey Dowdy, and Donald Dowdy.

Mrs.Rodgers is survived by Joe Rodgers, her loving husband of forty-three years, her daughter Deborah Ellis (Robert), and son Ronnie Hinton (Linda). Her stepchildren include Mark Rodgers, deceased (Joanne), Thomas Rodgers (Judith, deceased), Ann Haigler (Tim), Keith Rodgers (Teresa), and Bobby Rodgers (Laura). Grandchildren include Holly Christian, Kristi Smith (Pat), Brent Ellis, Kim Davis (Dal),Todd Rodgers, Timothy Haigler, Christi Haustein (Carsten), Jacob Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Kayla Stojak (Joey), Luke Rodgers, Sarah Rodgers, Geoffrey Rodgers, Katie Rodgers, and Carley Rodgers. Great-grandchildren include

Katie Roberts, Blake Smith, Brooke Smith, Cole Davis, Levi Davis, Ethan Rodgers, Michael Stojak, and Nathan Stojak.

Margaret Rodgers was a devoted and loving wife, a precious mother, and a thoughtful and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She worked hard and loved life.

The family will receive friends at Ridgecrest Baptist Church at 5260 Vaughn Road on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. and the service, led by Dr. Bobby DuBois and Rev. John Russell, will be at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Leak Memory Chapel is officiating. Guests may receive additional information and sign the online register at www.leak-mc.com.
