Kathryn Jones Goray

Kathryn Jones Goray, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on January 11, 2022. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Goray was preceded in death by her husband Lawson Adair Goray, Sr., and her parents: Dr. and Mrs. John Richard Jones. She is survived by her two children, Lawson Adair "Dair" Goray, Jr., (Summer); and Sherri Goray Fulford, (Happy); and four grandchildren: Nicholas Hunter Meriwether (Ashley), Summer Brynnan Goray, David Rushton Goray, and Kathryn Ada Meriwether; and one great grandchild, Adair Elizabeth Goray.

Mrs. Goray was a native Montgomerian; an active member of the First Baptist Church, Montgomery, served in numerous areas at FBC to include: Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Nominating and Committee on Committees and Church Training leader. She attended Huntingdon College. Mrs. Goray retired as Senior Vice President and Assistant Secretary of the Alabama Bankers Association after 34 years of employment. She was a member of the American Society of Association Executives and listed in Who's Who for Association management, a member of the Alabama Council of Association Executives, and a member of the American Business Women's Association and PCMA. At retirement, she was named an Honorary member of the Past Presidents Club of the Alabama Bankers Association. Mrs. Goray was a member of the Junior Thespian Literary Club, several garden clubs, the Montgomery Symphony League, Shakespeare's Panier Society, the Montgomery County Historical Society and the Alabama Historical Research Society. Following her retirement, she served for many years as a volunteer with the Montgomery Area Council on Aging and MACOA Auxiliary.
