Judith Annette (Dial) Cleghorn passed away peacefully at her home on March 24, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) O. Cleghorn, and parents Oscar and Virgene Dial. She is survived by her sister, Susan Crosthwait (Steve) of Guntersville, AL; children, Mickey Weeks of Montgomery, AL; Melanie Golson (Warren) of Hope Hull, AL; Clay Cleghorn (Lainie) of Wetumpka, AL; Phyllis Kreischer (Dave) of Montgomery, AL; and Cindy Criswell of Tuscaloosa, AL.
The joy of her heart were the ones who called her, Nana, grandchildren Sara Golson Little (Shawn), Joey Golson (Mary Katherine), James Warner Cleghorn, Austin Cleghorn, Leigh Burns Broemlage (Marcel), Erin Burns McCoy (Brad), David Chunn (Brooke), Rachel Chunn Lowery (Aaron), Anna Kreischer, and Paul Kreischer; great-grandchildren, Carter Payne, Greyson Golson, Gabi Little, Hadleigh Grace Chunn, Isabelle Chunn, Caroline Chunn, Kayla Booth Norlin, and Ana Broemlage; and great-great-grandchildren, Shepard Norlin and Ethan McCoy.
Originally from Livingston, Alabama, Judy lived in Tuscaloosa, AL, and worked at the University of Alabama until moving to Montgomery, where she worked for Blount International, Blount-Strange Automotive Group, and Winton Blount, III, until she retired. Judy was a member of Frazer Church, an avid Alabama sports fan, enjoyed sewing, reading, working in her flower garden, and being at the beach. The family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers from John Knox at Home, Centerwell Home Heath, and Gentiva Hospice.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Leak-Memory Funeral Home, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL, with a graveside service at 3:00 pm at Forest Hills Cemetery, 9504 US Hwy 331, Snowden, AL. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joey Golson, James Warner Cleghorn, Austin Cleghorn, David Chunn, Paul Kreischer, and Shawn Little.
