John Cleveland McLeod

John Cleveland McLeod met his Savior face to face on February 20, 2017. He is rejoicing with his mother, father, brother and many family members that have gone before him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Myrtis McLeod and his brother and sister-in-law, Willis F. and Anne McLeod. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rebecca “Becky” Pryor McLeod, his children: Anthony and Linda McLeod, grandson Brian McLeod; Jeff and Katrina Warr, grandchildren Wesley and Catrina Warr, Devona Barbour, Latrelle Williams, great-grandchild Mikayla Johnston; Kevin and Missy Busby, grandchildren Logan and Kaela Busby. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby J. and Melba McLeod and many relatives in the Winter Haven, FL area. JC was born in Crenshaw County and later moved to Florida where he spent most of his school years. He was a printer by trade and took great pride in his craft. He worked for many printing shops and newspapers during his career, his last one as the Camera Foreman for the Defense Printing Plant at Gunter AFS. Upon his retirement he moved to Wetumpka, AL and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, reading and oil painting. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed the Respite Group at First Methodist Church and Happy Hearts at First Assembly of God and all the wonderful friends he made there. Even the terrible disease of Alzheimer’s couldn’t take away his joy. He was loved by so many and even in his last days, he had a great sense of love and appreciation for his caregivers. A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 10:00-11:00AM. A chapel service will be held at 11:00AM with Pastor Gregory D. Kelley officiating. A burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Ken Furman, Ken Summersgill, Kevin Busby, Logan Busby, Wesley Warr, and Brian McLeod.
