John David (JD) Herring, 63, passed away November 26, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Geretha Budd, father, Gordon Ellis Herring; brother, Joe Ben Herring; grandson, Parker Thomas Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Smith Herring; son, John Rivers Herring (Tara); daughter, Brooke Taylor (Wayne); grandchildren, Ashleigh Taylor, Addison Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Laney Nichols, Nolee Nichols; sisters, Rhonda Kelley (Steve) and Nancy Herring; niece, Lindsay June Herring.
JD was a vivacious and loving man. He had a very competitive spirit, which you knew if you met him on a billiard table. He was thrilled to be able to share his knowledge of the game and life with those interested in learning. When you met JD, more than likely he would know more of your family history than you did. He was blessed with an enormous memory and grand story telling abilities. He will be greatly missed, as he was greatly loved.
A visitation for John will be Sunday, December 1, 2109 at Leak Memory Chapel from 4-6 pm with a graveside service to take place Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2 pm at the River Falls Cemetery in River Falls, Al.
