He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norris and Mary Huie, and Gene and Nan McDonald.
He is survived by his parents Danny and Cynthia (Cindy) Huie McDonald, his sister, Alicia McDonald Smith (Kevin), his son, Grayson Daniel McDonald, two nieces, Clara and Zelda Smith, and a host of beloved Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Jason graduated from Lanier Academic Magnet High School, earned an Associate’s Degree in IT from John Patterson School of Technology and went immediately into IT with the Office of the Courts of the State of Alabama. He later worked as IT Manager for Alpha II, LLC., Montgomery Branch. He also served Wares Ferry Road Baptist Church in Montgomery as Bi-Vocational Minister of Music while singing with the Professional Southern Gospel Trio “Spoken For.”
Jason loved His Lord, Jesus Christ, music, and people. He had a heart for people of all ages, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and particularly with his son, Grayson. They enjoyed flying drones, riding electric scooters, swimming, playing video games, other board games, and watching adventure movies. He was a loyal Auburn Football Fan, and enjoyed gathering with family, and sharing funny stories from the past and present.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Eastmont Baptist Church 4505 Atlanta Hwy Montgomery, AL 36109 at 11 a.m. with Visitation at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Eastmont Baptist Church Missions Fund.
