Jane Cunningham Dunlap daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. H.L Cunningham (nee Lady Portis) died Monday November 9, 2015, in Montgomery, Al. She was born June 18, 1927, at Margaret, Al in St. Clair County and grew up in Birmingham.
She was graduate of Fassfern School for girls in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Jane married Frederick S. Dunlap, Jr. at First Methodist Church, Montgomery. They enjoyed almost 50 years of happiness. Ford preceded her in death in 2004. Jane was a member of McCoy Memorial Methodist Church and as a couple they were active in Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
After their retirement, they moved to Montgomery. Recently, Jane lived at Wesley Gardens then moved to John Knox Nursing Home as her health began to fail.
Jane continued to be active in community activities. She particularly enjoyed her membership in DAR in Birmingham and Montgomery.
Jane is survived by two sisters, Mrs.F.W. (Tay) Bond, Jr., and Miss Portis Cunningham both of Montgomery, a foster sister, Mrs. H.D. Alexander (nee Edwina Wallace) of Auburn, two nieces, Dale Brown of Birmingham and her sister Jane, of Mobile , a nephew, David F. Bond and his wife Julie of Montgomery and two great nephews, William and Jonathan Bond.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Birmingham on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ben A. McDavid officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 2416 W Cloverdale Park, Montgomery, Al 36106 of the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Endowment Foundation, P.O.
