James N Thackston

He was preceded in death by his parents Herman Lester and Myrtice Owens Thackston. He is survived by his wife; Kathy Faulkner Thackston, son; Brian C. Thackston (Karen), grandchildren; Nathan, Gage, Emily and Brysan, brother; Herman L. Thackston Jr. (Kathleen), sisters; Gloria Hester, Jean Harris, and Jane Thackston. After the age of nine James was lovingly raised, as their own, by Jacqueline Dozier Thackston and Clarence Tate Thackston. With his new family he later acquired two additional brothers, Clarence Tate Thackston Jr. and Galen Jay Thackston, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James was a devoted employee of Alexander Sealcoating and Paving.

The family will receive friends at Leak-Memory Chapel on Monday, June 20, from 5:00 until 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00Am Tuesday, June 21 at Heritage Baptist Church with Bro. Teamon Knight and Bro. Mickey Castleberry officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbeares will be Jimmy, Marty and Steve Faulkner, Hank Draughon, Jerry Free, Sidney McCall, Bud Stanaland and Birch Bowdre. Honorary palbearers will be Johnny Butler, Laslie Hall, Joe Watkins, Marvin Richardson, Alan Weeks, Larry Ray, Terry Cumbie and Jeff Thompson. Memorials can be made to Heritage Baptist church.
