Kent, James Vernon, 73, a resident of Pike Road, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps and trained with Platoon 244 and was later deployed to Vietnam. He retired from the Montgomery Police Department and the state of Alabama Department of Youth Services.

He is survived by his loving wife Lynda Cox Kent of 25 years; two step children Mandy (Tony) Ellis, and Chad (Tiffany) Jones; and his children Penny Wilson, Dena Donovan, and Stacey Kent; and three loving granddaughters Taylor Martin, Lacey Ellis, and Molly Jones.

The family will receive friends at Leak Memory on Monday April 23, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A family graveside will be held immediately following visitation at Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville, AL.
