NIX, Hazel Williams, 86, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Monday, June, 11, 2012. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, 305 S. Perry St., with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Earl Nix. She is survived by her daughter, Luanne Nix Hamilton (Randy), Russellville, AR; sons, Horace Earl “Chip” Nix, Jr. (Michelle) and William Haisten Nix (Teri), Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Leigh Hamilton, Will Hamilton (Mariya), Katie Hamilton, Trey Nix, Davis Nix, Lauren Nix, Will Nix and Mary Grayson Nix; great grandson, Wyatt Hamilton; brothers, Joseph Haisten Williams, Hueytown, AL and Horace Guice Williams (Brenda), Eufaula, AL. Hazel “Bubby” was a faithful follower of Christ, a member of First Baptist Church; devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and loyal friend. The family wishes to thank Wesley Gardens for their care while Hazel lived there and SouthernCare Hospice for their tender and compassionate care. The family is especially grateful to Susan Durden and her amazing staff at Angels for the Elderly whose genuine love, gentleness, and patience were a blessing not only to our mother but to us as well.
