Mr. Martin was a WWII veteran who retired as a First Lieutenant of the Army Air Corps. He was a builder for several years. With his community in mind, he drew the plans for Autauga Academy of Prattville, AL and for Camellia Baptist Church of Prattville, AL without compensation. Mr. Martin was a good man who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Betty Marie Fraser Martin; parents, Daniel Farrell and Annie Lee Smoak Martin; brother, Tully Sinclair Martin; sister, Meadow Wease Martin; and his grandson, Paul F. Martin.
Survivors include his children, James D. Martin, (Janice) Fletcher F. (Lynda) Martin, Linda Marie (Joe) Rollan; grandchildren, Jonathan D. (Anna) Martin, Jeremy R. Martin, Kimberley (Terry) Wininger, Brian Kelly, Jason Wesley Martin, Joe G. (Trey) Rollan III, Hope Marie Rollan (Stuart) Peters, Casey Neal Rollan; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Roxy Honor Martin; and numerous other friends and family members.
Pallbearers will be Trey Rollan, Casey Neal Rollan, Stuart Peters, Levi Hasselbring, Ethan Hasselbring, and Arvel Goodin.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Leak Memory Chapel. Brother Jim Tate of Memphis Baptist Church in Dothan, AL will be officiating. The burial will follow at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
