Edith Brown Griffin, age 95, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Edith was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Franklin Edgar Brown and Mamie Lo Johnson on Christmas Day 1926 and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Griffin, Jr.; her son, Randy Griffin; and her siblings, Barbara Cosby and Ed Brown. She is survived by her son, Tom (Rhonda) Griffin of Birmingham; her special niece and caregiver, Debbie Pollard of Eclectic, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
A family and friends' visitation for Mrs. Griffin will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM. Services will conclude with a graveside in Greenwood Cemetery.
A long-time employee (accountant) of the State of Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles, Edith retired at age 70. A devoted member of Morningview Baptist church for 64 years, she helped reconcile contributions and worked in the nursery. A favorite activity was playing canasta with church friends. She enjoyed gardening inside and out with an interest in daylilies, african violets, orchids and Christmas cati. A great fan of the University of Alabama athletics particularly Football and Softball, she was a Football season ticket holder for over 30 years. Edith regularly attended football games thru 2019. She enjoyed tailgating and "condo-gating" in Tuscaloosa. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the Bon Secour River in Baldwin County. She also enjoyed visiting family in Arizona on a regular basis. Edith loved her family and enjoyed spending time with their friends whom she considered extended family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be John Pollard, Riley Pollard, Carl Olander, Dr. George Handey, Nick Handey, Jeff Peoples, John Braxton and Steve Griffin with honorary pallbearers as Delane Dunson, Sarah Jones, Betty Holley, Annette Cox, Becky Williams, Melissa Bertolotti, Linda Kyser and Brenda Cantrell.
The family would also like to mention Dr. George Handey and the Staffs of Jackson Hospital and Clinic, Baptist Hospital South, and Rehab Select at Hillview Terrace for their compassion and care.
