Dorothy Ballard Butler, age 94, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Dot was born in Dadeville, Alabama to Grady Herbert Ballard and Ethell Carroll Ballard. She grew up in Tallassee and married her high school sweetheart on April 12, 1952. A charter member of McGhee Rd. Baptist Church and later Thorington Road Baptist, she enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling with her family and spending time at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Ethel Ballard; her husband, Charles Webster Butler Sr.; her son, Charles Webster Butler Jr.; and her siblings, Charles Ballard, Joe Ballard and Carol Harrington. Dot is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Butler Frank; her grandchildren, Lindsey Frank (Alan) Clements and Mitchell William (Kelly) Frank; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob, Charlie, Marion Elizabeth, John Ellis, Will, Thomas; as well as her sister, Nita Croy.
A family and friends visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:30 PM. Her burial is set for a later date.
