Chuck Smith

Glenn Day “Chuck” Smith, Jr., a resident of Hope Hull, AL passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the age of 75. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church in Montgomery, where he taught children’s Sunday school for over 35 years. Chuck was born on July 28, 1947 in Montgomery, Alabama to Glenn Day Smith, Sr. and Marguerite Mooneyham Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy Perdue Smith, daughter Melissa Taylor and son Matthew (Melanie) Smith; grandchildren Catherine Taylor, Marlee Smith, Charlotte Smith, Lila Smith; sisters Elaine Smith, Martha (John) Thigpen and brother Spurgeon Smith. Serving as pallbearers will be David Batchelor, Clay Henley, George Kelly, Jr., Matthew Marsh, Stephen Marsh and Barry Meadows.

A family and friends visitation for Glenn will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. A friends and family graveside will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
