PROCTOR, Benjamin David, 25, a Montgomery resident born to David Proctor and Robbin Fuqua, on August 9, 1987, went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2012. Ben was an active and devoted member of Taylor Road Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the choir. Ben graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 2007, and won numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals in Special Olympics swimming, basketball, and softball. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Fuqua, Jr., and his paternal grandparents, Raymond D. and Margaret C. Proctor, he is survived by his parents David Proctor and Robbin Fuqua; stepmother, Shana Proctor; sister, Rachael Proctor, stepsisters, Sarah-Rachael and Becca Murdoch; special friend, Linda Simonds; maternal grandmother, Frances Halcomb and her husband, Joe Halcomb; stepgrandparents, Ray and Regina Roughton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, from 5-7 PM, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, followed by the Service of Celebration of Ben's Life on Friday, October 12, 2012, at 2 PM, at Taylor Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Andy Hepburn officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ken Green, Michael Taylor, Keith Wilson, Steve Redding, Patrick Aitken, Jonathan Fuqua, Greg Taunton, and Emile Mattison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Horner and Ben's Alabama Special Olympics Teammates.
