Mrs. Audrey P. Norris

Audrey Patterson Norris passed away at The Terrace of Priceville, AL on January 8, 2013 at the age of 92. Audrey was a dedicated and active member of Thorington Road Baptist Church (formally Woodley Road Baptist Church), Montgomery, participating in the choir for many years. She was a quilter, excellent seamstress, wonderful homemaker (her scratch coconut cake should have been entered in the Pillsbury bake-off) and a Godly example to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the community.

Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Reece Albert Norris in 2001, her parents Leman Chester Patterson and Sara Jane Starnes Patterson (both died of influenza on the same day in 1929), and subsequently, six brothers and six sisters. Audrey and her other young siblings were raised by their older siblings. No greater love has ever been shown by family members for each other.

She is survived by her son James Reece Norris and daughter Nancy Norris Pyron, both of Decatur, AL; grandson James (Tina) Samuel Norris of Jasper, AL; granddaughters: Shannon (Gregory) Nerantzis of Lovettsville, VA and Elizabeth (Timothy) Mixon of Temple, Texas and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, January 15 at Leak Memory Chapel with visitation beginning at 1pm. Brother Eddie Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeff Johnson and his staff, the staffs at Decatur Morgan Hospital 5th floor, River City Care and Rehabilitation Center, Hospice of the Valley and especially the dedicated personnel at The Terrace of Priceville for their care and concern.
