Anna Margaret Wright would tell everyone that she lived a very blessed life. She felt this way because she was loved and cherished all of her life, first by her parents, next by her husband and children, and always by the Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior. Anna stepped into the arms of Jesus on February 9.
She was the only daughter of Flocy M. McMurry and Ella Mae Norris McMurry, born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 1, 1924. On August 12, 1944, she married Howard Nolan Wright. They had two sons, Kenneth and Lee, and celebrated 64 years of marriage. Anna was a homemaker, a devoted mother and a loving grandmother who was cherished by her grandchildren. She loved her friends at Heritage Baptist Church and the Friday Bridge Group. Anna had a way of making everyone feel special and became “Nana” to so many.
Surviving family members include sons Kenneth (Kay) Wright, Lee (Linette) Wright; grandchildren Kendra (Jason) Powers, Emilee Wright, Julianna (James) Vance and great grandchildren, Austin Powers and Leo Vance.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020, immediately followed by a celebration of Anna’s life at 2:30 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Heritage Baptist Church children’s ministry.
