Albert Clinton “Clint” Kelly, Jr., 77, a lifelong Montgomery resident and Crimson Tide fan, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Clint was born on August 17, 1944, the second of three children, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1962. He married Barbara Leavell, his childhood neighbor and lifelong love in 1965. In 1966, Clint began serving his country in the Alabama National Guard during the Vietnam War. He began his 35-year career in the pharmaceutical industry with Rucker Pharmaceuticals in 1973. In the decades that followed, he continued to pursue pharmaceutical sales with Boots and Glaxo Smith Kline, his hard work and dedication rewarded with several awards, until his retirement in 2007. Throughout his lifetime, Clint spent his weekends on Lake Martin and enjoyed his Corvettes as well as hunting and golfing with his sons and friends.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Clinton Kelly, Sr., and Lady Doris Kelly, and his sister, Betty Chavers. Clint is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, two sons, Kevin (Stephanie) Kelly and Michael (Jessica) Kelly, and two grandchildren, Rowan and Piper Kelly. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Paulette) Kelly, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Clint’s caregiver, Marion Frazier, for her heartfelt care and dedication over the last three and a half years.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation at Leak Memory Chapel at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 as well as the graveside service immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Rippy. Pallbearers will be Kevin Kelly, Michael Kelly, Clay Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Jeff High, and Cooper Veazey.
