William Rodney Haynes, a man of grit and determination, bid farewell to this world on June 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy etched in hard work and unyielding spirit. Born June 20, 1950 to Percy and Lida Haynes in Anniston, Alabama. Rodney embodied the essence of resiliency and humor, as well as resolve throughout his life.
From his early days, Rodney was known for his fiery personality and unwavering resolve. He never shied away from a challenge, earning a reputation as a hell raiser who tackled obstacles head-on. His career spanned decades, marked by tireless dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence in making sure his family was provided for always. Whether it was long hours on the job or standing up for what he believed in, Rodney's determination never wavered.
Rodney was a devoted family man. He cherished moments with his beloved wife of 51 years, Pam Haynes; sons, Graham Haynes (Neely) and Mark Haynes; grandsons, Gavin and Grant Haynes, and Jaxon and William Haynes; as well has his brother, James Edward "Pete" Haynes (Nancy) and extended family members.
Rodney's presence brought joy and strength to those fortunate enough to know him.
In his leisure time, Rodney was known to be a lively soul, enjoying the company of family and friends and indulging in his passions, which included flying planes, racing dirt bikes in his younger days, hunting, repairing sewing machines, listening to music, and shooting guns, which he loved to share with his children and grandchildren. His laughter and spirited stories will be fondly remembered by all who shared in his adventures.
Rodney faced his final battle with cancer with the same courage and tenacity that defined his life. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by his remarkable journey.
A funeral service for William will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM at Eulaton United Methodist Church, 401 Westover Rd, Anniston, AL 36201. In his memory, guests are requested to wear their Sunday best. He will be laid to rest at Eulaton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Carol Lambert will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Hospital at www.stjude.org.
Pallbearers are Pete Haynes, Andy Haynes, Butch Carden, Shane Price, Paul Price and Landon Price.
William Rodney Haynes will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his legacy of resilience and determination continue to inspire generations to come.
