Roger "Tim" Dale Busby

Roger "Tim" Dale Busby, age 71, of Shelby, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. Tim was born October 17, 1949 at his family home in Calera. He graduated from Calera H. S., Samford University and attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary. Rev. Busby was a missionary to Venezuela and to Hispanics in GA. He was the Assistant Pastor and Interim Pastor at Bethlehem Baptist. He founded a Hispanic church in Calera that is now Iglesia Bethel. He loved God and was his servant. He was a dedicated worker appreciated by his employers, such as Johnnie Cooley. He was loved by many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Lillian Busby; brother, Gordon Busby; and brother-in-law, John Sides. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 27 years, Lois Busby; children, Christy Shoemaker, Bethany Raygoza (Omar), and Lindsey Gates (Kevin); stepchildren, Carrie Pence (Jim) and Ron Ross; grandchildren, Cody and Brianna Shoemaker, Dalayla, Christian and Isabella Raygoza, and Anjel and Baxter Gates; step grandchildren, Adam and Joshua Sherrell, Jenni Beavers, Tiffany Bihm, Buster and Hunter Greer, and David Ross; twelve loving great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Sides; brother, Eugene Busby (Jane); sister-in-law, Eleanor Busby; nieces and nephews, Vivian Smith, Brenda Busby, Deann Rochester, Randy Sides, Vicky Johnson.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with visitation to begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Montevallo. Rev. Roger Hamaker and Rev. Felipe Rangel will officiate. The family would appreciate social distancing and mask protocols be observed.
