Johnnie Faye Long

Johnnie Faye Long, age 85, of Pea Ridge, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Johnnie was born February 21, 1935 to Wesley and Emma Harrell. She was raised along with 3 siblings in Pea Ridge, Alabama.

Johnnie will join in Heaven her soul mate and husband of 52 years, Jack C. Long; dearly missed son, Gregory C. Long; parents, Wesley H. Harrell and Emma Pickett Harrell; and sister, Lou Burleson.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carla Hood (Billy); grandson, Justin C. Long; brothers, Alvin Harrell, and Kenneth Harrell (Joann); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnnie spent her career as a clerk for Liberty National, from which she retired after 20 years of service.

She was an avid Alabama Football fan and went to as many games as she could. She loved spending time with her daughter, Carla, who acted as her caregiver for the past 10 years as her health declined. The memories they made will always be cherished. She was a proud grandmother who doted on Justin often. She was talented with cross-stitch and often enjoyed working word search puzzles. Johnnie had a strong relationship with God. She and Jack were members of Dogwood Baptist church, and we know today they are looking over us. Johnnie was a devoted wife, caring mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family, her church, and her community.

A graveside service will be held for Johnnie on Wednesday, November 4

, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Alabama. Brother Todd Burr to officiate.
