Mrs. Janice F Pickett

Janice F Pickett, age 91, of Montevallo, AL passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, in the comfort of her own home. She was born on July 4, 1933, to her parents, Fred and Maggie Lawley, both have preceded her in death. Janice is also preceded in death by her husband, James E Pickett; son, Duncan Pickett; brothers, Roland Lawley, and Fred Lawley Jr.; and sisters, Louise Trotter, Tommie Stephenson, Lillian Tucker, and Peggy Hyde. She is survived by her three sons, Buster (Vicki), Larry, and Charlie (Judy) Pickett and daughter in law, Margaret Pickett as well as her sister, Willie R. Allen. Janice is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She worked in retail for many years, starting at Bargain Town and retiring from Walmart. Janice was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. She was an avid gardener and loved spending hours in her flower beds and rose gardens. A special thank you to Barbara and Courtney Collins, Casey Hewitt and Debra Densmore for taking such great care of Janice for the past three months. We would also like to thank Rene Genry, her home health nurse, and Expect care.

Services for Janice will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. A visitation will be held at 1 PM, followed by a service at 2 PM. She will be laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery. Brother Don Vanderslice will be officiating.
