George was a graduate of Phillips High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He went into the Navy and served from 1959 to 1963. He then received an Associate’s Degree from Jefferson State. George enjoyed bird hunting and fishing for all of his life. He loved his family dearly. He was very influential to his son, grandsons and nephews to inspire them to be good, responsible men. George attended Bethel Baptist Church in Columbiana for 25 years. He held his church family in high regard and was very thankful for their support throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Jordan; son, Kyle Jordan (Renee); sister, Shirley Ann Barnes; grandchildren, Drake Brown, Mckenzie Brown, Courtland McGee Jordan and Meagan Jordan Finley (Scott); great grandchildren, Adi, Easton and Rylen; numerous sister-in-laws with their families; and a host of nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his father, Joe Jordan; mother, Ruth Jordan O’Quinn; step-father, John “Pops” O’Quinn; and son, Gentry Jordan.
A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. His funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home with the burial following at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119 Montevallo, AL 35115.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Jordan, Luke Stafford, Drake Brown, Frank Barnes, Phillip Barnes and Anthony Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearer will be Courtland McGee Jordan.
