It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew Gilbert Castro, age 36, of Laredo, Texas, who left us on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Andrew was the beloved only son of Kathryn, and his loss leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him.

Andrew was a man of simplicity, humility, and quiet strength. Throughout his life, he was a devoted son to his mother, Kathryn, and cherished their close bond above all else. As an only son, Andrew's love for his mother was deep and unwavering, and his care for her was evident in everything he did. He was the kind of person who found joy in the small things—offering kindness to everyone he met, and living a life grounded in faith and compassion.

Though Andrew may not have sought the spotlight, he had a profound impact on those around him. He was known for his gentle spirit, his willingness to listen, and his ability to make others feel seen and heard. His heart was always open to helping others, and his genuine nature made him a friend to many.

Andrew’s life was a testament to the power of simplicity—finding meaning in everyday moments and cherishing the relationships that mattered most. He lived with quiet dignity and a deep faith, always trusting in God’s plan for him.

A viewing to celebrate Andrew's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Montebello, 913 West Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640-4793. Following the viewing, a cremation mass will be held in Andrew's honor at St. Joseph Salesian Youth Center, 8301 Arroyo Dr, Rosemead, CA 91770, from 5:30 PM.

As we say goodbye to Andrew, we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now resting in the peace of God's embrace. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will forever remain a quiet light guiding us all.
