Wow, such a shock to hear about Scott, a blast from the past.  I knew the Wendling family since the late 70s. I worked with Dee for many years, even had a crush on Scott when he and Joel hung out at the college pool.  Scott's brother Steve brought me sheepskins from Australia on his way back from summer camp, I did the guestbook for Theresa and Nelson's wedding and the Wendling Family was a Pasadena blessing to many students in the area that had the fortune to know or work with them. 
I can't believe Scott was here in Arizona for a time where I now live and I had no idea, would have loved to catch up. The Wendlings are truly a wonderful family and had more than their share of sadness and grief over the years. My love, thoughts and prayers of comfort go out to their entire family. 
Also, many thanks to Mat Morris for posting this notice on FB otherwise I'd never known about this sad loss of Scott, he was a genuine human being. I'm sorry I lost touch.

As a neighbor and friend, they do not make them any better than Scott. We shared a love of all things motorized and would seek each other's input when working on our various 2 or 4 wheeled projects. 

I looked up to Scott as a mentor and can pinpoint the conversations in which I walked away with a refined perspective on everything from careers to personal relationships. 

I do and will miss Scott for quite some time.

Scott, watching the movie of your life and the people that made your life so special brought into focus how important you are to all of us.  Not a past tense - a present and future. 

We shared many a story on the 7th floor of Walnut Center and, of course, discovered a few things in common:  back stories, distance running, El Dorado County, fierce competition, impatience and hope and humor, humor, humor ( who can ever forget the pink tutu story).   

You Zoomed in (literally and figuratively) to my retirement celebration a year and a half ago and immediately became the life of the party (of course you did).  Who knew what joy and tears this past year and a half would bring. 

Thank you for your friendship. You were, in the end as you were in the beginning and throughout, surrounded by love.

I’m saddened to learn of Scott’s passing. He would always make time for my team’s requests and with his quick wit, often had us laughing! I appreciated his partnership and enjoyed chatting with him. Scott truly seemed to enjoy his very busy position and did so with a smile on his face. Such a genuine kind being and I’m grateful to have had him along my career path. 

Sending my condolences to Scott’s family and dear friends. 

Enjoyed  working with Scott and admired him for his athleticism.   It’s funny I can’t remember the exact projects we worked but I can recall his professionalism and humor.  Dear Scott I hope you find peace in the next life.    

I am deeply saddened by the news of Scott's passing. Scott and I worked closely together at KP and developed a great friendship built on professionalism and mutual respect. We had tremendous success working on sustainability and green initiatives.  We always shared a laugh during tough times and Scott would provide levity with his keen dry wit.  My family will keep the Wendling family in our thoughts and prayers.

So sad to hear of Scott's passing.  One particularly fond memory I have is when several of us went to see a movie after our 20th high school reunion, and I joined Scott and several others by heading to the beach after the movie.  Just remember the utter glee of bobbing up and down in the surf with high school buds...

Praying for comfort for the family and loved ones during this time of loss.
