John Raymond Marshall

John Raymond Marshall, was born on December 16, 1939 in Los Angeles County Hospital to Arthur and Marilla Marshall. He was raised in Indio, CA from the 3rd grade up and graduated from Coachella Valley Union High School.

He served in the Navy for four years before receiving an honorable discharge before his 21st birthday.

John had his own Tax Accounting practice for 52 years before retiring in 2020.

He and Barbara were married in February 1975. Together they enjoyed listening to music, watching movies out or at home, square dancing (36 years), eating out with friends, traveling by car, train, or cruise ship. Visiting family. Also simply driving around southern California to dances or dance workshops.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Judith, step son Jeff, brother James, granddaughter Denise and two great grandchildren Hazel and Wilson. Also all his friends in the square dance community and his long term clientele that also considered him a friend.

John was predeceased by his parents, sister Joanne, Grandson Brian, and great granddaughter Emma.

Had thought the fight against Pancreatic Cancer and the Colon Infection were behind John even though they weakened him. John passed away peacefully in the afternoon sitting up at home.

John was cremated, Military Honors and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled later when all of the family can travel to be together.
